Cathartes aura

It is one of the largest birds in America, occupying fourth place behind Condor and the Eagles.

It has a black body and naked head of red color. Yellow legs.

While flying, it is common to see this bird planning, using the hot air currents. It has a noticeably short neck; while the wide wings are seen in two colors: black basal feathers, with a lighter strip behind each wing.

Also, the wings form a wide V, while the end feathers are separatedas fingers, to better control flight.
