| Skunks The are three species in the municipality: Mephitis mephitis Mephitis macroura Conepatus mesoleucus In the photo is shown a specimen of the first one. They differenciate by the form of the white patch in the back: In memphitis, it forms a V with the vertix in the head, as in the photo. In macrocura there are variations in the white patch, which doesn't have a V form. In mesoleucos the whole back is white.

Badger Taxidea taxus It is an animal with a heavy appearance, as it walks swaying. It's wide and low body gives it also a heavy appearance. The legs are short: the front ones are armed with strong and long claws, up to 3 inches long, while the rear legs are shorter. The hair is rough and yellowish gray colored, except by a white band along the cheeks. It also has another white strip extending from the tip of the nose, along the middle of the face, and ending between the shoulders. |
