Mourning Dove

Zenaida macroura

With light gray color above, and lighter colored below.

It can be distinguished from the other dove by the black spots in the wings

The central feathers in the tail are very long, with much shorter white lateral feathers, which give the tail the appearance of ending in a point.

White winged dove

Zenaida asiatica

It has a much shorter tail and larger body than the other dove.

The body is brown colored, with white primary feathers in the wings.

The tail is rounded, with the exterior feathers with a white tip.

It deposits two spotted eggs in an improvised nest, located in the lower wings of the trees.

Inca dove

Scardafella inca

It is a very small dove.

Their main characteristic is, besides it's size, the long and narrow tail, with side white feathers.

The body has the appearance of being formed by scales.
