
DECREE ESTABLISHING THE
NOGALES CUSTOMS HOUSE
PORFIRIO DIAZ, PRESIDENT OF THE MEXICAN UNITED STATES,
TO IT'S INHABITANTS, LET IT BE KNOWN:
That for motives of public convenience, and making use of the faculty given to the Executive by Fraction XIV of Article 85 of the Federal Constitution, I have issued the following decree:
FIRST ARTICLE.- It is established, in the point named Nogales, located in the State of Sonora, immediately adjacent to the United States border, a Customs House which will exercise the functions that customs duties, current laws and dispositions, correspond to the Maritime and Border Customs Houses, as related to the Importation, Exportation, and Transit of Foreign and National merchandises.
SECOND ARTICLE.- The staff and salaries of the said Customs House will be the following:
| An Administrator | $1,800.00 |
| An Immigration Officer | $1,200.00 |
| An Appointed Writing Clerk | $1,000.00 |
| A corporal of Warders | $1,200.00 |
| Fifteen Warders, at $800.00 each | $12,000.00 |
| Office expenses | $600.00 |
| Total yearly expenses | $17,800.00 |
Therefore, I order it to be printed, published, circulated and given due observance.
