Atil is located between Tubutama and Altar.
Originally, it was named as The Seven Archangels of Ati by the Jesuits, later was renamed as San Francisco del Ati by the Franciscans. It´s name has been both spelled as Ati and Atil.
The ruins of the temple that can be seen in the photos belong to a construction made by Fr. Jacobo Sedelmayr, was was stationed in Tubutama, and had Atil as a visit.
During Father Francisco Yturralde´s visit in 1797, Atil was again a mission, and had two resident missionaries. The church and the sacristy were two rooms with adobe walls and wood beams. This is the building that today is in ruins.
